Restore Your Smile with Dental Implants

Dental implants are posts fixed into the jawbone. Made of titanium, a biosafe material, these posts fuse with the bone to form your new, permanent tooth root. Implants are versatile and can support anything from a single tooth to a whole arch of your teeth.

Who Can Get Dental Implants?

Most patients who are healthy enough to undergo oral surgery or a routine dental extraction may qualify for dental implants with healthy gums and adequate bone density.

What are Some of the Pretreatments I Might Need Before an Implant?

At Alpha Dental Care, we offer all necessary pretreatments to ensure you achieve the sustainable results you deserve. Some of the services we offer include:

Bone Grafting – If the jaw doesn’t have enough strength to support implants, a bone grafting procedure will be necessary. During this treatment, we add new material to the jawbone to strengthen it. The materials used are either your own transplanted bone or materials explicitly designed for grafting.

Sinus lift – If the natural bone below the sinuses deteriorates, you will need a sinus lift, during which a specialist adds bone below the sinuses to support the implant. For your convenience, a specialist comes to our office and performs this operation. This eliminates the need to commute to any other office.

All-on-4® Dental Implants

If you need to replace an entire arch of teeth, the All-on-4 dental implant system will save you from needing an implant for every missing tooth. This system uses four implants to support a full arch and can replace the top or bottom arch of your smile. It is an efficient method to restore your smile’s appeal and full functionality while minimizing the impact of the procedure on you.

Our practice believes in specialization and cares about results. We bring in a specialist to make it easy for you to receive the placement procedure along with the needed restorations under the same roof.

What is Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal treatment (RCT) is a therapy that helps you preserve the healthy portion of an infected tooth. Dr. Ley eliminates infection by first extracting any decaying parts of your tooth, then removing the infected nerves, blood vessels, and tissues from the root canal chamber. He then fills the root with an antibacterial material called gutta-percha to help the tooth heal. Finally, our dentist covers your tooth with a dental crown to protect it from further damage.

Tooth Extraction with Ridge Preservation

In cases where tooth extraction is the only method to preserve your oral health, we try to protect your underlying jawbone as much as possible. Once a tooth is removed, and bone loss starts to occur. We perform ridge preservation, a type of bone graft that minimizes bone shrinking and helps you avoid the need for a significant bone grafting surgery later.

When extracting a tooth, Dr. Ley performs a bone graft in the socket at the time of tooth removal. This procedure is fast, simple, and produces little to no discomfort. We perform extractions for wisdom teeth and any damaged tooth that requires extraction.

AlloDerm for Periodontal Treatment

close up of a womans healthy smileHealthy gums play an essential role in keeping your teeth intact and producing a great smile. If you experience gum loss around your teeth, it may lead to serious oral health problems. At our practice, we provide you with excellent periodontal care and make sure your gums are in perfect condition before proceeding with any needed therapy.

We offer AlloDerm, one of the latest techniques used to treat gingival recession and soft tissue ridge defects. It is a predictable procedure for reversing gum tissue loss, and an effective alternative to soft tissue grafting with no need for a second surgical site.

AlloDerm allows us to restore your damaged tissue using the regenerative power of your own body. It provides the means to restore health to damaged or receding tissue without the need to harvest the graft material from somewhere else in your mouth.

Full & Partial Dentures

Set of dentures on white backgroundIf you are looking for multiple teeth replacement options, a denture may be the right choice for you. Modern dentures are a useful option for tooth replacement. They use innovative designs and materials that make them more comfortable and durable.

At our practice, we use high-quality materials to create your custom dentures, and Dr. Ley puts serious effort into designing them to ensure they fit and function well for you. We also fix or realign your existing denture if needed.

A denture can be full or partial. It can also be fixed, removable, or an overdenture. Here is an explanation for all these options:

Full Dentures can replace an entire arch of teeth on the lower or upper jaw. They consist of a sturdy acrylic base and acrylic or ceramic teeth. They use suction or adhesive to attach to the gums.

Partial Dentures are useful if you still have some healthy teeth remaining. It helps to replace the missing teeth and take the burden off your natural teeth to preserve them.

Overdentures are dentures that go over a supporting structure. Your natural teeth can provide the needed support, but dental implants are often used. For the lower jaw, only two implants are required and no frames. However, the upper jaw needs a metal frame anchored by three or more implants for adequate support. In some situations, we can convert regular dentures to overdentures.

Fixed or Implant-Supported Dentures present the most stable option. They can absorb the pressure of chewing and maintain the denture firmly and comfortably in position. A full denture can be supported by six to eight implants or as few as four based on your condition. They fit and function like real teeth.

The main difference between an overdenture and a fixed one is that an overdenture is removable, while a fixed denture can only be removed by a dentist.

Complete Your Smile with a Fixed Bridge

If you don’t qualify for dental implants or just don’t prefer them, a fixed bridge may be an excellent choice for you. This porcelain prosthetic replaces up to three teeth in a gap. The artificial teeth are suspended between two crowns anchored to adjacent healthy teeth for support.

Do I Need a Crown?

We provide high-quality crowns designed to mimic natural teeth. A crown is custom-made to fit over your tooth, stabilizing it and protecting it from decay or damage. It is considered one of the most versatile and reliable restorations.

Dr. Ley may recommend a crown for you to:

  • Strengthen cracked or broken teeth
  • Reshape small, worn, or misshapen teeth
  • Restore teeth with advanced decay
  • Protect teeth after root canal therapy
  • Improve your bite or alignment
  • Complete a dental implant
